I went through the same thing when I first started venturing out as a photographer, and very often didn’t promote the fact that I was a photographer, nor label myself as one. But now, similar to you that people will now pay me, it is a lot easier to do so. And a lot more common.

Naw, I wasn’t around for it (I bolted out of Rockefeller Center before it got too overwhelming - it already took a police escort to get out of my building at 5pm) - but the tree’s lit now! So drop by and see it!

I find how I identify myself depends partially on to whom I’m identifying myself, and for what purpose. This is an interesting topic . . . perhaps I’ll blog about it myself later.
